Our Focus Is to Deliver Superior Value to Our Customers

1- Proper Plate Selection:
The plates to which the centering elements are attached must have an appropriate thickness according to the operation in the mold. Additionally, their other dimensions should be chosen to best center the lateral forces between the columns under press load.

2- Selecting the Appropriate Centering Set:
The key point here is determining how many columns and bushings are needed in the mold based on the operation, and deciding the diameters of these columns and bushings. Columns of suitable diameter and matching bushings should be selected according to the difficulty of the mold operation and assembled accordingly.

3- Machining the Plates:
The process of opening the column and bushing slots in the mold plates is extremely important. The fit between these slots and their hole tolerances must be within the specified tolerances. Excess thickness between the slots causes unnecessary channel loading. Even during trial assembly before the mold is installed, deep scratches may be observed. These scratches pose a risk of flash problems later on. Each slot must be within proper tolerance. A centering element that fits too loosely in the hole will not function properly and may cause deformation in both the product and the mold. Conversely, if the slots are narrower than the specified tolerances, the columns and bushings will be very difficult to insert. If forced (e.g., with a heavy hammer), bushings may crack or excessively shrink, and columns may swell laterally. In any case, flash problems may occur. To avoid these issues, centering elements must be connected appropriately according to their purpose (for example, bottom pull or pressure shoe — see page 14).

4- Operation of Columns and Bushings:
When mounting columns and bushings on the plates, bushings should be attached to the upper plate and columns to the lower plate. This prevents foreign materials (such as burrs, dust, etc.) from entering and accumulating inside the bushings. Operators should regularly inspect columns and bushings and apply proper lubrication at regular intervals, which will extend the lifespan of the centering elements used.

Since the 1970s, DMC Kalıp has been serving the automotive industry, primarily engaged in the production of sheet metal molds and sheet metal parts for many years. In 2010, the company underwent a strategic transformation by ending mold manufacturing and shifting its entire production capacity and infrastructure to modern CNC milling and CNC turning machines, focusing on the production of mold centering elements. This transition has enabled DMC Kalıp to continue contributing to the industry with high-precision and quality products.
